By the grace of God, the Romanian Union was able to purchase a beautiful plot of land in a mountain region, covering approximatively 20000 square meters in a beautiful valley on the Northern side of the Southern Carpathians, bordering on one side on a an abundant mountain river and on low alpine forest on the other side.
Though being situated in a developing tourist region, the property is quite isolated, and without neighbors in the immediate proximity; this fact offers best conditions for rest, fresh water and fresh air – an ideal environment for rest and relaxation for a Christian.
From that place, various opportunities for hiking open up to those loving nature: trails to the chalets Negoiu, Balea, Barcaciu, Poiana Neamtului, etc., and then farther to the lofty peaks of the “Transylvanian Alps” (Suru, Negoiu, Moldoveanu, etc.)
After longing for a considerable time for an own camp site for the organization of camp meetings, conferences and meetings, by the purchase of this lot, the prerequisites were finally fulfilled for the establishing of such a settlement.
From the point of view of its functionality, it is aimed to host children and young people’s camps, lectures, seminars, meetings and conferences, as well as to offer the brethren in our church a spot of rest and relaxation, which the usual tourist sites barely manage to offer, due to their worldly atmosphere.
All the activities that are intended to take place here have primarily a missionary character, being aimed to bring people in contact with the love of God and the good news of salvation, in harmony with the recommendations of the Spirit of Prophecy, far from the rush of the crowded places.
And, if the increasing prices in other touristic facilities made the access to such hotels a luxury that quite few can afford, which limited the possibility of organizing youth meetings in decent conditions at affordable prices, this establishment is intended to facilitate the access of all our brethren and sisters to the blessings offered by God in nature, so that they should be able to return from a season spent there refreshed both physically and spiritually.
Having our own meeting place, we could also have full control over kitchen and meals, so that those accommodated there can enjoy clean, safe, healthful, quality food at convenient prices.
For our children and young people, for which worldly camps are not a proper environment, and which are generally deprived of opportunities other children enjoy, such a camp can be a wonderful place to spend holidays, to start friendships with young people of the same faith, to grow spiritually by studies, discussions, common singing and prayer, as well as for counteracting negative influences exerted on them by the environment and the curricula of secular schools. All these could happen even when the busy schedules of the parents would not allow them to go with the children on vacation when their little ones are on holidays.
Besides the spiritual activities and the acquiring of good habits, and additional to team-building activities, various interesting and useful courses can be organized to meet the thirst for knowledge young people have.
Even if such a project cannot be completed but progressively, in several steps, not ultimately depending on the available funds, the beginning was made by the purchase of propriety; if under the influence of God’s Spirit’s you might feel advised in your conscience to contribute to its accomplishment, you are more than welcome to send us your contributions with the specification “For the SDARM Camp”, or to transfer them directly to the Church’s bank account:
