Victorious Youth<\/strong><\/p>\n

\tBetween September 21-23, 2012 the SDARM Campus in Porumbacu, Romania, hosted the Youth Convention of the South Ardeal Field, with the topic, \u201eVictorious Youth\u201d. \u201eWe will rejoice in thy victory, and in the name of our God we will set up [our] banners\u201d (Psalms 20:5 Romanian translation).
\n\tThe convention opened on Friday, at 7 P.M. after which we discussed about the things that we consider we need to overcome in our lives. For the morning worship on Sabbath, each sleeping room prepared an encouragement Bible verse on the topic of the convention. The Sabbath School was organized in 2 classes, due to the fact that we also had visitors from other fields. After the Sabbath School, we had the divine service, conducted by br. Cristian Paulescu. The topic of his sermon was \u201eRe-trace Your Path\u201d; we were urged to:<\/p>\n

1. Decide what is important
\n2. Have a daily schedule to use time wisely
\n3. Re-trace our lives: – full trust in God \u2013 be willing to change the direction
\n4. Listen to God and search our hearts continually<\/p>\n

\tDuring the after-noon program, the participants, re-grouped again according to their sleeping room, presented their items: songs, poems, short lectures, encouragements on the topic. Sister Irina Iancu had also a short presentation on the Immune System during which she drew a parallel between this system and the spiritual life. Physically, God entrusted us with a strong immune system. Spiritually, there is also an \u201eimmune system\u201d that defends us from sin, and this is the plan of salvation.
\n\tOn Sunday morning, we realized that we needed concrete future aims. We concluded that every change starts with prayer so we decided to pray for another every night at 10 P.M. till the next Convention. We also decided to study the gospel of John and to memorize 5 verses from this Bible book.
\n\tWe thank the Lord for the wonderful time we spent in nature and we hope this new beginning will bring us closer to God, in order to be overcomers against sin.
\n\t\u201eThe power of God, combined with human effort, has wrought out a glorious victory for us… God has resources of power of which we as yet know nothing, and from these He will supply us in our time of need. But our effort is ever to combine with the divine. Our intellect, our perceptive powers, all the strength of our being, must be called into exercise. … If we will rise to the emergency, and arm ourselves like men who wait for their Lord; if we will work to overcome every defect in our characters, God will give us increased light and strength and help.\u201d (Messages to Young People, p. 106).<\/p>\n
